Prospector is a "search engine" that helps programmers use large, complex APIs such as those of the Eclipse platform or J2EE. Prospector scans and analyzes APIs and bodies of existing application code in advance, and then synthesizes code snippets on the fly in response to programmer queries, solving problems in seconds that otherwise take hours of searching documentation. Prospector is under development as an Eclipse plugin, which will integrate with the Content Assist and QuickFix features to help coders work faster.
