Microsoft to Demo at EclipseCon 2005!
The Events section of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team website reads:
Microsoft will be at EclipseCon next week to “connect with current and future partners” and to show how to extend the Visual Studio IDE.
CBROnline writes:
Visual Studio lead program manager Jason Weber will explain to attendees of Eclipsecon, in Burlingame, California, how to build extensions for Microsoft's Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Which of course is quite strange, we seriously doubt that you can write Visual Studio extensions using Java (the preferred programming language of Eclipse developers). Microsoft is obviously feeling the heat of competition.
result?

So how was it at EclipseCon 2005? Was it good? I also saw a report on hypotheek. Nice info! Regards, Aislin
so microsoft now appreciates the Java IDE Eclipse, the IDE is very good to use and effective in business that Bill wants to be assosiated with it. How finny for guys who would not ship Win OS with the Java Virtual Machine (and try to have their own idea of Java, not to mention its not cross platform but tied to their OS).
I will interested to see how Microsoft will partner with Java developer, let alone their IDEs, does someone smell a rat here.
Microsoft now wants us to build pluguns to their IDE, using which language Bill, your java (ms java) or Sun's Java (you don't want to hear about). I can assure you one thing that microsoft will not release their source code of the IDE because it reflects the cog wheels of thier OS.
